Hijri calendar (Islamic Date) 7.0

The Islamic, Muslim or Hijri calendar is a lunar calendar consisting of 12 months in a year of 354 or 355 days. The Hijri year or era is the era used in the Islamic lunar calendar, which begins its count from the Islamic New Year in 622 AD. During that year, Muhammad and his followers migrated from Mecca to Yathrib (now Medina). This event, known as the Hijra, is commemorated in Islam for its role in the founding of the first Muslim community (ummah). Each month of the Islamic calendar commences on the birth of the new lunar cycle.

The app allows you to view the Hijri and Gregorian date simultaneously on different screens. You can easily switch between Hijri and Gregorian dates. The app also allows you to view previous and upcoming month calendars with a forward and back button feature. These features are available for both the Hijri and Gregorian calendars.

The app is supported with two beautiful Hijri calendar widgets - one small and one big. These widgets display the current Islamic date and day name, and also support the forward and back button feature.

The days of the week supported by the app for the Hijri calendar are al-Aḥad (Sunday), al-Ithnayn (Monday), ath-Thulāthā’ (Tuesday), al-Arba‘ā ’(Wednesday), al-Khamīs (Thursday), al-Jum‘ah (Friday), as-Sabt (Saturday).

The months supported by the app for the Hijri calendar are Muḥarram, Safar, Rabī‘ al-awwal, Rabī‘ ath-thānī, Jumādá al-ūlá, Jumādá al-ākhirah, Rajab, Sha‘bān, Ramaḍān, Shawwāl, Dhū al-Qa‘dah, Dhū al-Ḥijjah.
